"Let's start from the beginning," they say while wrapping their hands around a cup of tea. "What happened in Republic City?"
She leans back and stares into the ceiling. The room is fully attentive. She wonders what they know and what they think they know about what happened. Rumors only grow. Her eyes fall back down upon them.
Calmly she says, "The Dragon Empress died."

Picking up where Book 1 left off in 113 AG, Zirin and Yakone have seized control of Azula's sprawling criminal empire, believing her to be dead. Now Azula, very much alive, has shown up at Ty Lee's door with unknown intentions. Will she join the Gaang? Finally become a Kyoshi Warrior? Something else? Or will she do as Lin warned her against doing: will she dig three graves?
