“Don’t you remember? Don’t you remember what the Jotun did to us when we a-attacked them?” He holds up a single, quivering finger. “One touch, j-just one, could fell the mightiest Asgardian. What makes you think I won’t do the same to you?”
“Because I know you, Loki, and I know what you will and will not do.”
A tear breaks free from one of Loki’s eyes and dribbles down his cheek.
“How are you s-so certain, of that? Look at what I’ve done, l-look at what I am. H-how can you possibly trust that I’ll protect you?”
He shudders and clenches his eyes shut, more tears rolling in little rivulets down his cheeks.
“I’m a monster,” he whispers.
And Thor's heart shatters into a million pieces
