About When You Touch Me
I thought about this particular fanfic a lot - and ultimately decided to delete the story. I hated the thought of an incomplete story sitting around. An incomplete fanfic is a disappointment for everyone - for me and for you. The other thing is, it was sitting around for 14 years. I started it in 2008. It's almost 2022 now. Over those years, I have moved on in life and fanfiction-writing interests (it's all Romulans and Humans romance now...). I'm in a very different place from when I started it. I think it's the same with you - you are all in different places from when you first started reading it.
I made some attempts to complete the story - only to discover that my writing style has changed a lot over the years. More sparse, less flowery, more dry, less semicolons. I now make it a point (pun intended) to ditch the semicolons.
Deleting the story gives me a certain closure. It allows me to to say, "I wrote that story during a certain part of my life, and now that that part of my life is in the past and over, I want that story to be finished, too."
At this point, I want to thank you all for your enthusiasm, comments, feedback and support. You are a wonderful community, and I hope you'll understand.
