After the Battle of Hogwarts, the wards around the school reset, trapping everyone inside. When Harry goes to retrieve Snape's body from where he had left him in the boathouse, he finds him alive! he brings him to the castle, and the two began a tentative friendship. The find themselves spending every night sitting side by side in silence, avoiding nightmares while the rest of the castle sleeps. Harry grows restless and struggles with his lack of control. No one notices his suffering... except for his nighttime companion, who becomes much more as time goes on.
