Hermione Granger goes back in time, not to save the future Dark Lord's soul, and not kill him. Instead, she figures she'll offer him some competition for the role of World Leader. She knows that when Grindelwald falls, there will be room for a new player on the field. At least this way, Hermione knows she's the lesser of two evils. NOTE: UNDERGOING A BIG RE-WRITE
Still, playing politics against Tom Riddle is near suicide, especially when he has the home-field advantage. When his interest in her evolves past that of their rivalry, Hermione wonders if she shouldn't have just killed him when she had the chance.
