After a bitter five year war, the nation of Utreau is finally defeated by it's neighboring country, Asnain. Maevis Bernard was a bounty-hunter turned soldier who is lauded as a war hero for her exploits in the conflict. She reluctantly accepts a gift given to her by her Monarch: An entire mansion and the many riches that come with it.
Her friend and fellow soldier, Calvara Kuere, helps her settle in and suggests she should 'look the part' as a noble as her status as a local celebrity reaches its peak and eventually wanes down. This includes getting a husband, something Maevis refuses to do. However, she thinks it can't hurt to at least check out the available bachelors around. She chooses at random, and picks a man named Julian von Leventis to meet. But Julian isn't the typical Asnainian man, he's not chaste or sweet, but rather he's foul-mouthed and has a sullied reputation. And he has no intention in getting married.

A (hopefully) slow burn romance set in a Matriarchal society. Involves angry submissive men, a dash of self-indulgent femdom porn and copious amounts of worldbuilding. Mostly plot heavy.
