Aerys II passed the crown to his son Rhaegar before his madness could bring about the downfall of House Targaryen. A few years into King Rhaegar's reign, the dragons come back to life. When more and more rangers get lost beyond the Wall and priests of R'hllor begin to see visions in the flames of the upcoming threat, it strengthens Rhaegar's belief that the war for the dawn is about to come. But with only two children, Aegon and Rhaenys, to ride the three dragons and with several political crises, even to the point of threatening rebellion against the crown, lurking in the shadows, the danger for Westeros and all of mankind seems greater than ever. Suddenly the burden of saving the realm and all of mankind rests on the shoulders of Rhaegar's children, known and unknown.
Примечания автора: Hi everyone and welcome to my second fic, Of Kings and Bastards.I know that "King Rhaegar" isn't a very unique theme, but I hope you'll still have some fun with the story. I haven't planned it out to the end in all details yet but I do have a (somewhat rough) idea where this is supposed to be going. I hope you can live with that. ;-)I'm not sure how fast I'll be able to update this. I've already written a few chapters that will come in quick succession, I guess, but after that I'll probably be able to publish a new chapter every 2 weeks. I hope to be able to write faster, but I won't make any promises. ;-)Please note that I have slightly changed the age of the Stark-children a bit. As said in the tags, I'm not sure yet whether or not Jon/Arya is going to be romantic or not, but I wanted to keep this as a possibility at least and at the same time be sure that (with Arya significantly younger than Jon) it wouldn't get weird. So the ages of some of the characters at the beginning of this fic (the years is 301 AC) are:Rhaenys: 21 (born in early 280 AC)Aegon: 19, almost 20 (born in late 281 AC)Jon: 18 (born in 283 AC)Robb: 18 (born in 283 AC)Arya: 14, almost 15 (born in late 286 AC)Unlike my first fic "Of Dragons and Men", this story will actually be about the White Walkers and dragons.
