Hello and welcome to whatever this is, that was born from me reading some chaos!avatar Zuko fics and having too many ideas to stop myself. That concept isn't new, but I like to think I've very much done my own thing here. Credit where it is due: This is definitely inspired by musings of Muffinlance and AvocadoLove's Consider Chaos series. If you dig the concept of Chaos Avatar Zuko, check those out as well! Random Notes & Forewarnings about this fic:• I have absolutely no idea how long or how many chapters this will end up being. There is no update schedule because I'm an adult with adulting obligations and things happen when they happen. That said, regardless of time lapses between chapter updates, I have no intention of abandoning this fic. • There will be fighting, blood, and death. There is a whole ass war going on and I won't be shying away from it. However there will be no major character death. None. I'm pointing this out since the primary group of characters this fic follows are almost exclusively those who died in canon, and I did not go out of my way to include them just to kill them off. • With that in mind, I don't believe anything written is detailed/gory enough to warrant a mature rating. However, if at any point anyone feels this should really be given a mature rating/archive warning for violence please just tell me. I will change it! Either way there will be CW for any chapters that're more violent or have anything that might be off-putting. • As of time of writing this, this fic is gen with a heavy push for found family. That may end up changing or it may not. Either way the primary focus is traumatized teenagers (and one very tired and stressed out young adult) navigating a war, learning to trust each other, and healing. Imo not enough fics (or canon, for that matter) focus on the trauma these kids have gone through, and let them work through it. • I can't stress this enough: canon does not exist here. I have taken characters and locations from the show and the comics, and who they are and where they're from, but otherwise the plot of this fic has very little to do with canon. This is not a rewrite of the show, people who died in canon are very much alive, things that happened in canon may not happen or may take place at a different time, and the motivations driving these characters in this fic are not the same as they were in canon. Some might see this as wildly ooc, which is fair, but this entire fic is me indulging myself with "what if" after "what if" and how that could change the way these characters behave.• Character related tags will be updated as they're introduced. Not so much to prevent spoilers but to prevent the whole "where the heck is X?" while they're no where to be found.• There's cussing, because when one lives through war they get to use profanity. As a treat. If that's a thing that's a problem, here's your warning for it.
