The door parts to reveal a flash of orange. “I can’t help overhearing that I’ve been summoned.”
Their son’s reaction is instantaneous. Zhongli receives a kick in the stomach as Lanying ricochets off his lap, darting between Hutao’s legs to tackle his father with a running start. “Papa! Papa!”
“If it isn’t my little Latya. Did you miss me?” Ajax laughs, bending down to scoop the dragon into the crook of his arm. Lanying favours morphing back into human form so his father can kiss his cheek, and he breaks into pearly giggles.
Zhongli’s heart melts. He doesn’t think it is ever possible to tire of looking at his husband and his son; it is a sight so lovely he wants to commit it to memory for the rest of his life.
Zhongli and Childe settle into a humble family life. A bonus fic to An Age of Gods and Monsters.
