And Tony realizes, awkwardly, self-consciously, that he probably couldn’t sound any more like a deadbeat dad. The reality of the situation is: he hasn’t seen Peter in almost a month now, since their latest horribly ugly falling-out. And then stupid Tony Stark randomly decides to insert himself into Peter’s life, with his dad-sweaters and his boo-boo fixing and his casseroles. The only people defending said safe house are Peter and Leo, and Leo slams his cell door open and starts spitting out orders, but then promptly gets clobbered over the head and keels sideways. So that just leaves Peter. And he’s not even going to try to fight a whole team of Avengers. He looks up at Iron Man filling the doorway. “I surrender.” He’s never been captured before and he’s not sure what to do. Escape, probably. |
