| Tony Stark is one of the galaxy’s finest thieves, and uses his skills as a fear-sale sort of technique; it makes people buy Stark Industries systems to keep them protected, you see. It’s a family space pirate/not-quite-mafia sort of thing; they sell “protection” after all, and anyone who refuses if fair game for Tony’s little hobby of proving how inferior their own systems really are. A few y...>>ears ago, Obadiah Stane tried to also make it a war-mongers-for-hire deal, which led to a nasty falling out. Tony is half-human, but his mother was from an Alfheim community which contained a number of Jotunn refugees from Laufey’s increasingly-unpopular regime. Maria Stark was half-Jotunn, and her marriage to the Midgardian space-pirate brought the rest of the realms of Yggdrasil to Stark Industries’ attention, and inspired Asgard to ally with the Stark family. Tony’s skin doesn’t turn blue, but his “goosebumps” in cold weather look a lot like ice-Jotunn markings, and his eyes turn red when the temperature around him drops to below zero. He lacks ice-powers of his own, but he’s not susceptible to frostbite. The Three of Nifelheim ask him to go to Jotunnheim and fetch the Casket of Ancient Winters. Loki catches him. |

After the invasion of New York, Tony figures out Loki’s game, and he lays out an ultimatum that he realizes the trickster can’t escape from, maneuvering Loki into agreeing to be an ally, rather than a foe, if only when the time comes. A god’s sworn word is a promise that the god cannot break, but once Thanos’ head is p...>>arted from his shoulders, all bets will be off: no protections, no alliance, Loki free to do whatever he pleases, so long as he can still evade recapture at Asgard’s hands. So it’s simple, Tony tells himself: trust the war, not the god. It should have been simple. It was doomed to be anything but, because infatuation has no place in a war-zone, but Tony is prone to impropriety at all sorts of slightly impractical times, or he wouldn’t have wound up with the god of lies in his bed so frequently in the first place. Practicality and safe-distance plans are all going wrong, and Tony likes it too much to stop. |

| Set in a universe fairly similar to the Hellboy comics, with a hint of greek mythology and themes from the movie Labyrinth thrown in. Somehow: not crack. Tony Stark is a mad inventor working for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense with a tendency to be reckless on missions in the field. Loki is an easily bored Fey prince from an obscure kingdom Alfheim. They both have poor timing insofar as romantic developments. Edit: fixed weird formatting issue. |

| A Beauty and the Beast AU (I know, I know, but hear me out) Set in a world only vaguely akin to Earth-616 in the 1600s. Steampunk with no steam, dialed back 200 years, with technology advanced by practical magic and the Marvel "Age of Heroes" from Marvel 1602. Historical accuracy: do not expect much of it. Advanced human magecraft was a dying art when Anthony's father was born, but magic ...>>itself is far from dead and gone. The Stark family always had a bit of the gift, and Howard Stark used it in conjunction with scientific genius to bring strange and wondrous things into the world, and his son inherited that same legacy. Anthony's story is familiar to you: the attempted assassination, the kidnapping, the escape and the betrayal. Old Norse gods make their reappearance among men, and one of them has an army and possibly an overdeveloped sense of vengeance. The story carries on from there. |
