But then here he is, watching as this narrative that his father is pushing into them destroys his oldest nephew, twists him into something angry and broken, watching as his sister loses herself to paranoia and anger, watching as it consumes and destroys every single person he loves. And fuck that. Gwayne is a dutiful son, but the gods forgive him, he has to protect his sister and her family even if that means stabbing his father in the back.
