| Long hair melts into the blackness as if the ocean was her. Wei Ying observes as the figure floats in what must be the freezing waters of a spring night; as she slowly leaves her bike on the ground and inches to the edge of the walkway. Her eyes remain on the barely visible ripples around the stranger, their form somehow unfazed by the waves' strength this deep in. She feels unable to think, and to speak then feels like breaking a spell. ... It might be rude to keep staring, but then the stranger slowly starts to move towards her. |
