| Christine is the last of a dynasty of famed miniaturists, and her father has recently confessed that he is going blind. In an effort to keep her family's legacy alive, she agrees to complete his most important commission: that of the powerful Comte de Rouen. They reason that the Comte, once he sees her talent, will be able to launch her career and keep the Daae name alive.
