The Things We Do Not Say

Derek doesn’t talk about the way Stiles breathes sometimes, like it hurts, like he is carrying around everybody’s weight and doesn’t want anyone to know. Stiles doesn’t bring it up when Derek rests his hands on Stiles’ shoulders, fingers a soft press into the stiffened muscles, the way he eases his palms down, dragging that burdensome weight from Stiles’ bones.
