In retrospect, I think the timed updates were good for those readers, but really really bad for my hedonics… Torturing my readers with unpredictability, as much as I don’t enjoy inflicting that particular form of suffering, may be an unavoidable price of my being able to actually write.”

И с этим, что уж скрывать, невозможно не согласиться — автор полностью в своём праве.
