“He’s already a Malfoy, is that not enough?” Draco heard himself ask - and he immediately regretted it when he saw Astoria’s face fall. He had hurt her even though he didn’t necessarily understand how he had hurt her. He wanted to reach for her hand but refrained from doing so. Instead he shifted his position, wondering if Astoria was going to take their son out of his arms for daring to speak the truth. He had yet to say anything bad against his family, at least, but it wasn’t as if he could go on pretending that everything was fine for the rest of his life, for the rest of his son’s life.
