Queen Alicent Hightower is imprisoned in the Black Cells when her stepdaughter Rhaenyra sacks King's Landing. She is kept in the cells for half a year, slowly losing her mind.
She takes to counting the cracks in the walls to keep her mind from escaping her completely. At the same time she goes through her most precious memories desperately waiting for any of her surviving children to save her.
With the passing moons it becomes increasingly difficult for the Queen to tell what is real and what is not.
