The zombie turned to the buck. It reached down and pulled out the arrow Izuku had shot into it. It picked up the beast as if it weighed nothing at all. It threw it over its shoulder before it turned back to Izuku. It tilted its head.
“You... you want me to follow?” Izuku asked.
It nodded.
He squeaked “You just nodded! Nod again!” Izuku pointed his finger.
The zombie rolled its eyes. But it nodded. It tilted its head. A clear answer. Follow me.
“Okay,” Izuku whispered. “This is crazy. This is crazy!” he grabbed his arrows and followed after the zombie. “What is going on? I’m losing my mind... You bit me and I’m having a hallucination. That’s the only explanation for what’s happening. That’s all this is.” He tried to rationalize what was happening as he followed behind the zombie.
It led Izuku through the woods, twisting and winding between the trees. Izuku kept waffling between sheer disbelief and panic. He debated cutting his losses and running but there was some part of him that was curious. And he was likely going to die out there anyway, why not die at the hands of a hyperintelligent zombie? It’s a better way to go than dying of starvation, cold, and alone.
