Tony grows up with a snowstorm in the back of his mind. By the time he discovers that it is a representation of the emotions of his soulmate, he has been using it as a way to protect himself from pain, both physical and emotional.
His soulmate is indifference and apathy. His soulmate is calculation and focus. His soulmate is ice and snow and unyielding right up until the point where everything changes and his soulmate begins to feel again.
