People vanish in Portmere. They always have.
When Auror Harry Potter is sent to investigate the disappearance of a Ministry Herbologist, he expects a routine case. What he doesn't expect is a town where magic is too strong, a coastline that turns deadly without warning, and a local legend that may be more than just a fairy tale.
After one reckless mistake, Harry is thrown back to 1980, and straight into an uneasy alliance with a younger Severus Snape whose death he has never quite been able to leave behind.
But this is not the man he mourned, or the man he rebuilt in memory.
