Azula is returned to the palace two years and a half to the day that she left it. The Sages escort her to the steps as if she’s a child in need of hand-holding, and then leave her there as if an idiot has told them that she can be trusted alone. She’s left waiting only a moment before the doors open, and there’s the idiot himself. “Azula,” says Zuzu. Ridiculously, he’s smiling.
