Ron Weasley had always been smarter than what people had given him credit for. A tactical strategist from a young age due to his love for chess, a horrific incident forever changes the course of Ron's destiny and identity, one that he cannot readily reveal to those around him. Ron must learn to develop the perfect facade, pull strings from the shadows in order for things to go his way, deal with the natural complexities of friendship and rivalry, and ultimately face the threats that are at stake with the magical world. He must learn to manoeuvre the world in a way that doesn't compromise himself in the process. Will he sacrifice himself to be the world's hero, or let the darkness mould him into the villain?
