Tanjiro knew that it was his responsibility to support his family. He knew that it was his job to provide for them. As the oldest it was job to make the scarifies needed to ensure that his family be happy and healthy. If that means working under a troubled woman, then so be it. If it's for his family, then Tanjiro will endure. A shame that Nezuko does not see it that way.
