The Black family, while infamous for the great number of their members rotting in cells in Azkaban Fortress, were a known force to be reckoned with. So, when Sirius Black escapes a mere three months after his initial arrest on that fateful night of October 1981, the people of the wizarding world finally get to see this power put into action. Family is blood, after all.
