A Day in the Sun (джен)

Even after everything, Thor holds out hope that his brother can be redeemed. Now that he's away from the Chitauri, his mind is fully his own again. Not that he's home, even as a prisoner, maybe he can start to remember what it's like to have a family and a place to belong. Maybe he can even come to truly understand the other worlds as something other than a conqueror.
Odin allows Thor to take Loki down to Earth, under guard, for one day, and Thor hopes to show his brother some of the good things about the human world, and show him why he fought nearly to the death to defend the humans there. Some long overdue discussion happens over shawarma, even if it only serves to uncover more problems between them. But in the end, things go horribly wrong and their peaceful day out ends in bloodshed. Loki is left with Thor's life in his hands, and it's not as pleasant as he sometimes fantasized it would be. Even after everything, Thor is his brother.
