“James. I-” Tony placed his hands on his mouth, stopping himself from speaking. Since his brain still wasn’t connected to his mouth it was the best call. He had no idea what to say to make this better. His lips were still tingling, his body felt hot and heavy and he felt himself swaying towards James when the man stepped back.
“What do you want from me?” James asked, his voice hoarse with a tad of danger in it but his touch was gentle as he placed his hands on Tony’s shoulders, keeping him steady. Tony blinked, removing his hands from his mouth and he couldn’t help but notice how James’ eyes were drawn to them. James bit his lower lip and Tony breathed out deeply, clenching his hands into fists to stop himself from acting like more of a fool than he’d already done. At this point, Tony was just grateful he was still alive and semi-breathing.
