Life seems aimless. Harry doesn’t know what the point is. The hours flicker by in one endless day, the sun rising and setting just the same, but nothing is done. Nothing is achieved.
When he tells Hermione this, she nails him with a hard stare and asks him what he wants to do. She asks him what life he fought for. Then, when that elicits no response, she asks him what he’s good at.
Killing, he tells her. He’s really fucking good at killing people.
