Anxiety has been pooling low in Alex’s stomach all day, something she has valiantly tried to ignore in hopes it would simply go away. It hasn't. If anything, it has kept getting worse until Alex thinks she might throw up from it all. There are stacks of paperwork and files covering nearly every surface of her desk and every time somebody comes in to add something else to the pile, she has to resist the urge to throw it back in their face.
