Her parting gift to Rory was to drag her along to a reading on a Tuesday after work.
It wasn’t until they were on Locust Street, standing in front of Truncheon Books, that Rory even realized where they were going. She didn’t have time to so much as work up a good set of nerves before Marjorie thrust her towards Jess (his hair grown long around his ears in the years since she’d last seen him, and just a little stubble, just enough to remind her that there was a bit of Luke in him, lending character to his face) and yelled “Jess! Rory! Have you two met? I think you’d just love each other.”
(Of course, she wasn’t wrong.)
