It was even said that it was because death was afraid of their fidelity. It was even said that it was because life was jealous of their fidelity. Hatake were taught this tale from an early age, to teach them how far the loyalty of the ninken goes. They were to follow this example for the rest of their lives, like an unshakeable Nindo. It was also said outside the clan that it was this legend that forged the loyalty of the Hatake. That it was this legend that made them so altruistic, that they could not bring themselves to abandon their comrades in defiance of orders. But... what if it was not just a legend? |
