| When he reached the door, he stopped, frozen. His breath came in rapid huffs, panic settling into his bones. He needed a weapon, he needed a weapon right now. | Izuku dragged himself to his desk, tore it apart until he found the paint set his mother had bought him to shut him up on his last birthday. He found an old canvas in the corner and wiped the dust off. He turned the light on, and he put brush to canvas, and he let that pain flow into the colors. Izuku let the ache in his bones, the searing red coating his throat all dribble across the canvas like ...>>the blood that he continued to cough up, splattering his desk. Minutes or hours later, it was dark outside his window and the glow of his desk lamp was the only light in the whole apartment. He stood up, covered in red and green, black and white. He’d sobbed the pain and emotion from his body but not through tears.
