He'd accepted yesterday that he was ready to escape, to leave, to forget the woes of his life and let it all fade into darkness. But now, he could see the light coming, right at the end of a tunnel.
Izuku's feet sped up as he got closer and closer to the edge, sprinting towards the future he knew he craved, he needed.
Relief was within arms reach and he-
He dove.
But the wind that tousled his hair didn't last nearly as long as he thought it would. The fall was far too short, and not nearly hard enough.
Izuku opened his eyes, having felt no pain and no darkness enveloping him.
When he looked around, he found himself lying in... something soft?
