| Commander Jane Shepard has already died twice. Miranda Lawson refuses to let it happen again. Years after the Reapers’ defeat, Shepard awakens in a reconstructed body with fractured memories and no certainty that the woman who opened her eyes is the same one who died. Miranda insists she saved Shepard—not copied her—but the Lazarus archive holds secrets even she cannot control. When a ...>>Cerberus operative begins hunting the technology behind Shepard’s resurrection, the Normandy’s scattered crew is drawn into a pursuit across a wounded galaxy. Shepard soon discovers that her return carried a hidden cost, paid by people whose names were erased. Now the archive is evolving. The dead are beginning to speak. And something from the future is searching for a way home. To stop it, Shepard and Miranda must confront the question they have avoided since Lazarus: if death can be defeated, who has the right to decide who returns—and who must finally be allowed to go? *What We Choose to Keep* is an emotional *Mass Effect* techno-thriller about memory, identity, consent, and a love powerful enough to resurrect the dead—but perhaps not strong enough to release them. |

| SUMMARY: The war ended. Shepard didn’t. Pulled from the wreckage one final time, Jane Shepard—tall, powerful, and unrelenting—wasn’t brought back by Cerberus or command. She was brought back by love. Miranda Lawson used everything she had to restore the woman who changed her life… and the galaxy. Now, with the Normandy flying once more and the galaxy trying to make sense of survival...>>, Shepard and Miranda set out across the stars—not as commander and operative, but as partners. From Tuchanka to Thessia, from Omega to Earth, they’ll revisit the scars they left behind… and discover what it means to choose each other in a time of peace. It’s not just about saving the galaxy anymore. It’s about what’s worth saving after the war. |
