| Iruka reached up and undid his ponytail. Hair tumbled down around his shoulders and he raked one hand through it distractedly while thrusting the other at Kakashi, who took the hair band in surprise. It was still warm from his head. “Take this. It’s small and light, it’s not identifiable, and, uh, maybe it will help you remember that someone is waiting for you back home.” Kakashi didn’t ...>>know what to say. He couldn’t really refuse something so small, but it didn’t feel right to take something literally off Iruka’s head, something that had just been in his hair. It felt intimate. Plus, the sight of Iruka with his hair down was doing _things_ to him. “I can’t take this…” he started, but his fingers had already closed around it. Iruka gave him a level stare. “You’re going to take it with you, and you’re going to keep it with you the entire time. And you’re going to bring it back to me in one piece.
