почти то же предвещал The Economist:

When Vladimir Putin addresses the UN general assembly today, he will not bang his shoe on a desk, as the Soviet leader, Nikita Khrushchev, did in 1961. But Russia’s president will try to appear equally assertive. He will probably talk about the failures of the world’s security system and blame America for the disastrous consequences of its policy of fomenting regime change—for instance, in Syria, where he is assembling a joint effort with Iran and Iraq against Islamic State. The anti-Western bile will be mixed with talk of restoring trust. He will portray Russia as a key upholder of international norms and an indispensable ally against terrorism. Yet the main purpose of Mr Putin’s appearance is to try to restore a relationship with the West shattered by Russia’s lawless actions in Ukraine. He will seek to reassure the Russian public that, far from being isolated in the world, he is still able to command attention and respect.
