Omegas are sacred - a revered gift from the gods - be they old or new. When one presents in the Targaryen bloodline, born of the line of the ruling monarch, it is them that chooses their mate and in doing so - they choose the next King or if so inclined sit the throne themselves if trueborn. If not, they became legitimized in their own right, but had to choose a trueborn Targaryen Alpha as their mate and king.
If more than one omega presented - well, common sense and Westerosi law established by Aegon I took over - a son before a grandson - a trueborn heir before a baseborn one.
Common sense. So it stood to reason that when Aegon goes through a changing fever, and survives it - he would be King and all would be well. His alpha brother would not have to marry Lucerys - omega born intersex - and no one would have any reason left to fear for their lives. Aemond could be king for all Aegon cares about that metal chair.
What could possibly be left to endanger them now?
