Alternate Universe - Modern Setting, Slow Burn, but once the slow burn burns, Explicit Sexual Content, like a pretty decent amount of smut, Grief/Mourning, Mental Health Issues, Past Child Abuse, these tags sound more grim than it really is, just canon typical Difficult pasts, but also lots of therapy, this fic inadvertently became a love letter to therapy and croissants, past raoul / christine, very brief present raoul / christine but not enough to tag, Raoul sticks around as a friend cause I like him, I know there should be an accent in Daae, but I got tired of fighting with Pages and just left it out my bad

“You’ve heard of Erik, right?” “As in the producer?” Christine’s stomach did an excited swoop. The man’s reputation was as legendary as it was mysterious. “Yeah. What do you know about him?” “I mean not much, just that he’s credited on like, every album that’s mattered in the last decade, and he’s supposed to be some kind of reclusive genius. Someone at a party told me they’d been to his castle in France, but I think they were bullshitting.” Meg laughed. “Can neither confirm nor deny the castle, but the rest is right. He’s a huge deal, has a reputation for picking out new talent, collaborating on like one or two career defining albums, and then kind of disappearing back into the shadows until he finds his next muse.” She paused. “You know I don’t know that I’ve talked to anyone who’s actually seen his face.” ---- Modern AU, E/C slow burn in which Christine is an up and coming recording artist collaborating virtually with an unorthodox producer who just goes by Erik.
