She should have stopped Anaking right there and then. Obi-Wan should have gently but firmly discouraged her young apprentice from calling her such a thing. They were Jedi, and as much as a master-padawan relationship implied caring between master and learner, there shouldn't be a strong familial sense. The bonds were important; the connections were deep and rich. However, a certain distance had to be preserved between teacher and student—attachments formed too deeply were dangerous.
