A parody based on a classic Chinese novel of the same name. Makoto Naegi is an ordinary pupil but he is promoted to a high-ranking monk and is tasked to travel to the west to find 5 sacred sutras and return them to the temple to save their land from yokai, and along the way he meets three female characters who would serve as companions in his journey.
