“Sometimes,” Will says. “But sometimes Hannibal’s a cutting-edge killing machine full of knowledge and processing power walking around in a uniform with the zipper pulled up to his chin trying to be a member of the crew.”
“Your point?”
“Hannibal likes being human,” Will says. “He doesn’t understand it, and he’s curious about it. He’s got weaknesses, all right.”

It was simple. Hannibal was a murderous ship's AI that was killing off its crew, and Will was the man sent to shut it off.
Now they're a few hours from docking at Quantico Base. Will is a wreck trying to piece together the night when everything went wrong, and Hannibal might be the only thing holding him together.
