Hermione Granger and the Cursed Child

First year Hermione Granger is anxiously excited for her first year at the mythical school Hogwarts. She has spent nearly a calendar year reading, studying, and preparing for this moment. She boards the train, crosses the black lake, and stands before the great hall ready to be sorted.
But the Deputy Head doesn’t call her name.
When left standing, the only first year not sorted, she fears the nightmare she hadn’t allowed herself to indulge in is true. It had all been a lie, a joke, she’s not really a witch. They were going to send her back.
“What’s your name, child?” Professor Longbottom asks.
“Hermione Granger,” she sniffles.
“Dear, can you tell me today’s date?”
“Of course, September 1st.”
“The full date, dear.”
“Sunday, September 1st, 1991.”
“I’m so sorry my darling, it’s not 1991, it’s Saturday, September 1st, 2017.”
