| Naruto wasn't stupid. He knew who his parent's favorite kid was. Menma, his twin, and coincidentally, not the bearer of the Kyuubi. He may have lived in their estate, but he wasn't family. His parents didn't talk to him unless they wanted him to do something, or if they wanted to scold him. Menma soon began to avoid him as well, so Naruto became a recluse, left to watch his parents play with ...>>Menma in the backyard. He soon grew sick of overhearing his parent's discussions about his 'behavioral' issues. He quickly grew resentful. He couldn't stand to listen about how Menma was such a great child, and how he was a screw-up! So he ran away with nothing but the clothes on his back. He didn't expect the storm, or to get lost so deep in the woods. Naruto was wet, hungry, and convinced he was going to die when he stumbled into Morana, a witch who practiced 'dark' magic. She allowed him into her temple. Dried him off, fed him, and let him take a bath, even giving him clean clothes. She was the kindest person he had ever met. Then she offered to let him join her at the temple. "Worship the Lady in Black and she'll give you powers beyond imagination, boy." He agreed. |
