Although this study is a little dated, it is still relevant to issues of sexual orientation
development. The basic finding of this study is that 9.3% of a group of 75 sons of 55 gay or bisexual fathers were also gay. This is considerably higher than would be expected if the prevalence was the same as the general population. Assuming at 1.5 –3% prevalence of gay males, this would be 3 to 6 times
the expected rate of homosexuality in the sons.
