Вот буквально на коленке написал текст, если бы мне достался вопрос "Что за праздник 4 ноября, и как вы празднуете его дома".

At the beginning of 17th century, Russia suffered from power crisis caused by lack of credible successor to late Ivan IV, known as Time of Troubles. By 1612, Russia was de-facto ruled by Polish nobility, which caused great suffering for all social classes, ultimately uniting them against the common enemy. Autumn 1612 marked the peak of uprising — Russian militia led by Kozma Minin and Dimitri Pozharski has taken back Moscow, effectively ending the invasion. The day of liberation, November 4th, has been commemorated by Orthodox Church as a holiday for Kazan icon of Mother of God, since Russian warriors brandished the holy symbol as a banner while entering Kitai-Gorod. In 21st century, the date became public holiday, the Unity Day.
In my family, Unity Day is a good occasion to get together. Drinks are shared, stories are told, also, as a symbol of Polish "pig" intervents being impaled on Kremlin walls, we cook pork kabobs, and eat them while shouting "Bobr kurwa" and "Je perdole". At the end of the feast, we join outside to burn the scarecrow representing Grand Duke of Rzhec Pospolita.
