“Don’t,” John says abruptly, a hint of desperation in his voice.

I look back at him, unsure of how to respond.

“Sherlock, will you stay with me?” he asks, and he leans in and gives me another soft kiss on the lips.

“Yes,” I reply simply. “Yes, of course I will."
