“I’m sorry too, he breathed, hands cradling her face as he lowered her to the bed with aching gentleness. His hands scorched her body wherever they passed: down her throat, down her chest. Scorched and trembled. “I’m so sorry—”

She clutched at him, her hands never seeming to hold enough of him at once. One gripped at his soft hair while the other palmed his throat. She wanted forever to be his ruination, wanted her fingers to leave imprints of her aching want on his body; his heart.
