Mikey's family didn't just doubt him, they made fun of him when Kluh challenged him. Teased him for being so unprepared. Leo was the only one who helped him, but it didn't stop Kluh from badly hurting him. And it certainly didn't stop his family's doubts from creeping into his head.
Aka, a rewrite of the aftermath of the episode Grudge Match. With how strong Kluh is, there's no way Mikey didn't get hurt. And there's no way his family's words didn't hurt.
