Midoriya Izuku gave up being a hero long ago because surviving was more important. Dreams are a privilege people in his position can not afford. Snatched from the streets years ago, enslaved and with no hope of escape, he just does his best and tries not to let it all get to him.
Then a terrifying "client" picks him and Midoriya finds a young man living Midoriya's dream who is somehow just as hurt and just as trapped. Maybe even more alone.
For the first time he doesn't find his circumstances so horrible. For the first time he enjoys himself. For the first time he starts to look forward to that one evening he can spend with his pro-hero who clearly has no idea that he's even participating in anything illegal, because he clearly doesn't have any idea about any of this.
All they know is that for a fleeting period of time, they're both actually happy.
