The people around them find out about the new development that just took place in Olivia, Tucker and Noah's lives.
When Noah called him ¨daddy¨ for the first time, Ed wanted - desperately - to call his mom. He wanted to tell his sisters and his friends and everyone who would hear him that he was now a father, that he had a son.
He decided against it, though. He found he wanted to cherish this moment privately, at least for a couple of days. 
Liv also didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. They decided - together - to treat it as casually as possible.
When talking about how they’d approach the news with his family, they both decided they wanted to tell his mom personally, probably during one of their Sunday lunches. 
They kept it quiet, then.
